Mou vs Pep
There has been a lot of comparing of Madrid and Barca of late, but I haven't seen anyone do one for the coaches. So lets take a shot at it. You can say what ever you want about there styles on the pitch there personalities are totally different.
Lets look at what they both have won:
Mou has won 6 league titles (2 in Portugal, England, and Italy) one EUFA Cup (the now Europa League) 8 domestic cups and most important 2 Champions league titles with 2 different clubs. He is 1 of 3 managers that done this. I wont list all the personal titles but he has a lot and all of these in only 10 years.
Pep has won 2 La liga titles , 1 Copa del Rey, 1 FIFA Club World cup and most important 1 Champions league title. All of this in 2 years, not bad.
So who is the better coach? They are both natural born leaders, they have however two very different styles. Mou is loud, out spoken to an extreme and you love him or hate him there is no middle ground. Pep is quite and doesn't like to make waves, you really cant say bad things about him and no one does. They both win games and titles. Mou has been doing this longer than Pep but should that make him better? No.
What truly set Mou apart is his ability to win where ever he goes. He has changed his style of play and won titles in 2 out of the 3 best leagues in the world. If he wins a title in Spain he will have won in them all. Im not sure if anyone will be able to do that again. Could Pep do this? We don't know, and who knows if we ever will fin out. He is a Barca man through and through. He was a great player for them and is now a great coach for them. So who knows if he will ever leave.
If you ask me Mou is the best out there and will continue to be until Pep shows us that he can win in another uniform that isn't blue and red. I truly hope that he will venture out for a while because I am very curious to see how he does out of the shelter of what has been his eternal home. Until Pep can prove this Mou will continue to be the best out there no matter how many titles Pep wins at Barca.
